The 2023 theme for the Alberta Catholic School Trustees Association (ACSTA) fall general meeting was "Courage to Lead." This theme flows from the ACSTA’s mission which is to celebrate, preserve, promote, and enhance Catholic Education. The assembly approved the budget and discussed bylaw changes that were addressed.
The show of support for Catholic Education was elevated with the presence of Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, Minister of Education, and Hon. Searle Turton, Minister of Children and Family Services, who addressed the Association.
Furthermore, Terry Harris, in his role as the director, and I, serving as the Alternate director, actively collaborated with other ACSTA directors to delve into the intricacies of the strategic plan, bylaws, and Cannon law relevant to Catholic School Trustees. This collaborative effort is essential for ensuring effective leadership and governance within the realm of Catholic education. Such dedicated engagement underscores our collective commitment to the ongoing enhancement of leadership and governance standards in Catholic education.
