I want to warmly welcome all the new principals, administration, teachers, staff and students who are joining Ward 77 this school year. I am excited to see the 2017-2018 school year to begin and welcome back all students to what I hope will be your best year yet!
As the parent or guardian of a new school bus or ETS rider, we’d like to invite you and your child(ren ) to attend the 11th annual First Riders! First Riders allows you and your child to become familiar with the bus riding experience in advance of the new school year through a unique, hands-on event. The program is focused on Kindergarten and Grade 1 students as well as Grade 7 students transitioning to ETS. We welcome any child who is taking the bus for the first time, or even those interested in a refresher! Join us Thursday, August 31st. First Riders is a free event, but you must pre-register by August 25th.
With the support of the City of Edmonton, School Zones have been restored near all junior high and elementary schools throughout the City. Student safety is always our first priority. Please slowdown to 30km/h where school zone signs are posted and let’s keep our kids safe. School zones are in effect Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. when school is in. Please note as you travel around the City, Year-Round School Zones begin August 14, 2017.
We all have an important role to play in success of students and I look forward to working closely with parents to ensure that this is an exciting and rewarding year.
