Catholic education is built on faith, community, and a commitment to the whole child - mind, body, and spirit. As a Trustee, I believe strong governance means ensuring these values guide every decision we make for our students and schools. The Five Marks of Catholic Education reflect the foundation of our mission and the heart of our work.
1. Grounded in a Christian Anthropology
We believe every person is created in the image of God, deserving of dignity, respect, and care. Our governance must reflect this truth by creating policies and environments that honour the worth of every student and staff member.
2. Imbued with a Catholic Worldview
Catholic education helps students see the world through the lens of faith - where truth, beauty, justice, and compassion are central. Trustees have a duty to protect this worldview and ensure our schools remain places where faith and learning are inseparable.
3. Animated by a Faith-Infused Curriculum
Our curriculum is shaped by faith, bringing Gospel values into every subject and activity. It encourages students to grow in knowledge and character while understanding how their faith connects to everyday life.
4. Sustained by Gospel Witness
The Gospel comes alive when we live it. Trustees are called to lead with integrity, transparency, and service, ensuring decisions reflect the example of Christ and build trust across our school communities.
5. Shaped by a Spirituality of Communion
Catholic education thrives on relationships - between home, school, parish, and community. Strong governance depends on listening, collaboration, and unity, working together for the good of all students.
These five marks remind us that Catholic education is more than a system - it’s a mission rooted in faith and lived through action. As your Trustee, I remain dedicated to fostering strong, faith-centered governance that supports our schools, honours our Catholic identity, and serves the needs of families and staff.
I ask for your support and your vote in this election, so we can continue to strengthen Catholic education together - grounded in faith, guided by service, and inspired by hope.
